Good Afternoon,
I hope this finds you both physically and mentally healthy. Recently, I find myself using analogies to describe how I feel about this new reality. I guess we only know what we know so these analogies give me a “visual” in order to rationalize what seems so irrational. The past few days have felt like school being closed for a snow day where the snow never materializes. It’s odd…. I find myself anxiously running to the windows each morning looking for something… something that signals the COVID-19 virus has arrived. I’m not sure what that day will look like, but unfortunately, I assume it won’t be as refreshing and bright as a blanket of new snow.
There are many opinions circulating concerning the COVID-19 virus. There are opinions between countries and within countries. There are opinions within communities and within families. I have had discussions with relatives who are considering abandoning their home in the city and taking their RV to a “safer location” and I’ve spoken with a local doctor who believes “this is all BS and a bunch of political football…this whole lack of resources thing started in South Camden and the media ran with it…”
So, we can see opinions vary slightly. As a healthcare provider I feel you should continue to educate yourself using current information from reliable ”unbiased” sources. We should all expect to be impacted by this virus and the resulting societal shift. Social distancing continues to be the most effective way of lessening the rate of spread and controlling the COVID-19 virus. By flattening the curve, we can decrease suffering and reduce economic hardship for ourselves and our community.
Causeway Chiropractic will remain closed the week of 3/23-3/28. As the situation with the virus evolves, we will adapt accordingly. All appointments for this week will be rescheduled ASAP. We understand the inconvenience this action causes and we do not make this decision lightly. I strongly believe a chiropractic adjustment has significant impact directly on an individual’s immune system and can play a vital role in a patient’s overall health. However, at this moment I continue to believe the benefits of my treatment does not out weigh the effort to reduce the community spread of the COVID-19 virus.
As we sit watching the news, checking the “radar” and rush to the windows in anticipation of the “snow,” remember it will affect all of us in some degree…some will only get a dusting…unfortunately, others will get buried.
Please stay safe and be kind. Take a deep breath.
Yours in Health,
Dr. Bott
