Patient Advisory for Treatment During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Dear Patient,
You have come to our office for a routine Chiropractic evaluation and/or treatment that will be conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be advised of the following:
While our office complies with State Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention infection control guidelines to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we cannot make any guarantees.
Our staff are symptom-free and, to the best of their knowledge, have not been exposed to the virus. However, since we are a place of public accommodation, other persons (including other patients) could be infected, with or without their knowledge.
Causeway Chiropractic will continue to adapt our practice protocol in order to reduce COVID-19 exposure. Social distancing and vigilant attention to personal hygiene will be observed at our office. It is our professional opinion that the current modifications to your treatment plan and to our office policy are necessary in order for us to continue to provide responsible, safe and effective chiropractic care. The purpose of these changes is to better protect our patients and staff. Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation and compliance with our evolving response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Self-Screening
*If you have been diagnosed or have experienced COVID 19 symptoms…(respiratory distress, cough, sore throat, fever, loss of smell or taste…etc.) please cancel your appointment. Please wait at least 10-14 days after recovery to reschedule. Follow up with your Primary Care Provider if warranted.
*If you have been in contact with someone recently diagnosed with COVID 19 or have been in a high-risk area please reschedule your appointment and wait two weeks to reschedule (if symptom free).
*If you have had “frontline” exposure…(doctor, nurse, EMT/Police, Hospital/Nursing home employee…etc.) please notify the office for appropriate scheduling options.
*If you are considered “high-risk vulnerable patient”;..(70+ years old, cardiac patient, pulmonary patient, diabetic,.. etc.) inquire about preferred scheduling options.
Social Distancing
*No new patients will be scheduled at Causeway Chiropractic until further notice.
*No walk-in patients will be accommodated. Scheduled appointments only.
*Do not bring extended family or friends to your appointment unless absolutely necessary. (Notify office prior to arrival if necessary).
*Limited seating in reception room. Front door will be locked if “overcrowded”. If locked, please call from your cell phone to notify us of your arrival. Wait in your car. We will unlock and notify you when spacing allows.
*If you are more comfortable waiting in your car please call the front desk after you park and we will notify you when to enter the office.
*When scheduling please confirm that all 2020 paperwork is up to date. Please complete prior to your appointment (especially relevant for returning Medicare and summer patients).
Clinical/Treatment Changes
*Dr. Bott and staff will be masked. We ask that you also wear a mask or face covering while at our office. If you do not have a mask, we will provide one.
*All patients will have their temperature scanned prior to treatment. If your temperature is 100.4 or higher you will not be treated.
*Electric muscle stimulation and/or hot packs will no longer be provided with your chiropractic manipulation. Treatment will consist of your “normal” chiropractic adjustment and associated manual techniques. No physiotherapy.
*It is recommended that each patient bring their own hand/face towel to use while lying on the table. This will provide more protection while positioned face down.
Remember that the asymptomatic carrier and a long incubation period are dangerous characteristics associated with this novel coronavirus.
Please notify Causeway Chiropractic if you become ill with COVID 19 within 2-3 weeks of treating at our office.
We hope to maintain consistent office hours to serve our patients while responsibly limiting exposure risk to our staff and community. Thank you for continuing to entrust us with providing your chiropractic care as we attempt to find balance during imbalanced times.
Yours in Health,
Dr. Bott and Staff
