Good Afternoon,
So, after 4 weeks…a month… where are we…. Are you OK?.. Are you healthy?.. Are you scared?….confused.. angry… annoyed… hopeful… what are you?
Yeah, me too, I’m all of these things and more. And that’s the point…. I am you and you are me…we are together in this new world. But, is this really new, yes maybe the circumstances, but we have always been connected. Nothing in this existence happens in isolation. You affect me and I affect you… on so many levels. Yeah folks, it’s complicated and it’s hard… and sometimes it hurts.
I’ve been busy these last few weeks. There’s been daily “news/updates”. There’s been endless webinars watched and applications completed for relief programs. There have been late night grocery orders online and trips to Ocean Acres to bring supplies to my parents. And there have been phone calls to vulnerable patients in order to check in and provide some hope. It’s been hectic and the days seem to fly by at times. But each day, like you, the Botts wake up and take stock of who we are and where we are and we move forward as best we can.
This morning I read through my previous posts. The truth is I could repost each today and each is just as relevant as when I wrote it. Although some apathy and politics have begun to muddy the waters… the truth is the COVID-19 virus is still here, still making people sick, still overwhelming our doctors and nurses, and unfortunately our loved ones are still dying needlessly. These are the facts.
As your Chiropractor I could send out all kinds of remedies and protocols which might help you fight this “demon,” but let’s be honest there is no silver bullet. The only true protection from COVID-19 is common sense… keep yourself as healthy as possible, eat nutritious foods, get enough rest, manage your stress, practice strict personal hygiene and embrace the concept of social distancing.
Guys this is simple stuff… maybe not much fun, maybe very inconvenient, maybe it’s a terrible hardship that I could never understand… but again this is my best advice and it’s not very complicated… I’m sorry to say, but the majority of us are non-essential… check your egos at the door and stay home. Let’s help ourselves by helping each other.
Growing up my father told me (sometimes very often), “Life isn’t fair, no one ever handed you a piece of paper when you were born that said it would be easy.” He also taught me that life is a precious gift and to make sure I took the time to recognize this truth. So, as we are all being asked to alter our daily activities and sacrifice, please take a moment to be thankful for your (challenging) gift…
I will continue to monitor the COVID-19 virus and its effect in our region. The office will remain closed indefinitely and will re-open when I feel we can safely serve our community again. Be well.
I hope the attached link helps to keep you informed.
Yours in Health,
Dr. Bott
