“…In the end, it will be impossible to know if we overreacted or did too much, but it will be QUITE apparent if we under reacted or did too little…” – unnamed superintendent
Those are the words I read as I fell asleep last night and which echoed in my head as I wrestled with my choice to close the office for this upcoming week. As a healthcare provider I strongly support “social distancing” as a means of “flattening the curve,” with the hope that we can lessen the future impact of the COVID-19 virus on our community.
This was not an easy decision; it involved much soul searching and debate. However, the simple summary is that…. Causeway Chiropractic and my treatment is not an essential service. I do not feel comfortable providing the hands-on type of Chiropractic adjustment which is currently offered at my office. I feel, as a healthcare provider, that I can best serve my patients by cancelling their appointments and closing my office for the next week. We will continue to monitor the evolution of the COVID-19 virus and its local impact, adjusting our hours accordingly.
As can be observed by the many out of state license plates seen locally this weekend and the crowded bars and restaurants, I understand that opinions concerning the severity and seriousness of this virus vary greatly. To those patients who are “angered or annoyed” by this inconvenience, I sincerely apologize.
Our goal is to re-open, with an updated Practice Protocol, as soon as possible.
Patients who are currently scheduled will be contacted prior to their scheduled appointment time to be rescheduled.
As we adapt, once again, to a new normal try to remain positive and find the benefit of each new challenge.
With guarded optimism I hope that we never know if we overreacted or did too much.
Yours in Health,
Dr. Bott
